What does a professional moderator do?
A professional moderator runs your conference, seminar or debate so it reaches the results you set together — not just so it stays on time. 80% of our work is done in the preparation phase: make a plan, design interaction, guide speakers, set the content sharp. A good moderator makes the audience feel like VIPs: engaged, informed and entertained, and more likely to act afterwards.
What makes a good moderator for EU and Brussels events?
A good EU moderator understands both the topic and how EU policy-making actually works — on paper and in practice. That means knowing the difference between the European Council and the Council of Europe, how the Commission and Parliament operate, and the protocol of the Brussels bubble. We know the etiquette and jargon, but we keep events accessible and understandable for everyone, including outsiders.
What is the difference between a moderator, a chair, a presenter and an interviewer?
A moderator guides a full event toward a result, balancing content, speakers and audience. A chair keeps a formal meeting orderly and on-agenda. A presenter or master of ceremonies hosts and sets the tone, often for galas or awards. An interviewer draws the best out of a single guest on stage. We provide all of these and where possible we blur the lines and take all of these roles at once.
Do you only moderate in Brussels, or across Europe?
We work in Brussels, Strasbourg and across the rest of Europe. We are based in and know the Brussels bubble intimately, but our collective has moderators in many EU member states, available in multiple languages. We come to you, wherever your event takes place in Europe. or even the rest of the world.
Can you moderate multilingual and international events?
Yes. We regularly moderate international and multilingual events in English and work closely with interpretation teams. Our style adapts to the diverse cultural and professional backgrounds common in European and international settings, so every participant can follow and take part.
Do you moderate hybrid and online events?
Yes. We treat hybrid moderation as a distinct discipline, not a technical afterthought. We handle complex set-ups with remote speakers, live audiences, interpretation and interactive tools — and can add a sidekick moderator, online interaction tools and studio support to keep remote and in-room audiences equally engaged.
Do you only moderate, or do you also help design the event?
We do both, and we add the most value when involved early. Beyond moderating, we help you set clear goals, design the programme, choose formats and methods, and advise on room setup and logistics — all the way from idea to evaluation. Book us early: when we step on stage, our work is already 80% done.
How much does a professional moderator cost?
Our moderation packages start at €2,900 for a half day and €3,500 for a full day (Complete), with Premium, Hybrid and Bespoke options for larger or more complex events. Each package includes a strategy call, content preparation call, in-depth preparation and a same-day rehearsal. Tell us your event and we'll advise the right package.
How far in advance should we book a moderator?
As early as possible. We add most of our value in the preparation phase — helping you set goals and shape the programme. For high-level EU conferences, book several weeks to a few months ahead. The earlier you involve us, before your agenda, speakers, topics and venue are set in stone, the more value we add.
What kinds of events do you moderate?
