Merle Becker

Merle Becker is a Brussels-based impact moderator and facilitator specialising in complex, high-stakes conversations at the intersection of European policy, sustainability, education, and democratic governance.

With over fifteen years of experience on stage across Germany, Belgium, and the broader European Union, she has moderated panels, conferences, congresses, and stakeholder events for organisations including the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Committee of the Regions, CDP Global, Deutsche Umwelthilfe, Friends of Europe, Messe Frankfurt, and the German Federal Government.

Her moderation practice is grounded in a background that is both academic and deeply practical. She holds an MA in International Peace and Conflict Studies from Goethe University Frankfurt and an MBA in Sustainable Business, has worked as a research associate and lecturer at three universities, and co-founded two NGOs, including academic experience Worldwide, which received the Frankfurter Bürgerpreis and the national Prize for Democracy and Tolerance.

Merle works fluently in German, English, and French, and brings to every event a combination of subject-matter depth, journalistic precision, and the ability to hold a multilingual, institutionally complex room with warmth and authority. She is known for creating the conditions in which genuine exchange becomes possible: where participants name what isn't working, learn from each other, and leave with something they could not have built alone.

She is the founder of  Merle.Community, and co-hosts the Almendra podcast, in which she explores with guests from across Europe what impact really means and how it scales.

She is available for panel moderation, conference hosting, facilitation, and longer-term strategic communication partnerships, in person across Europe and online.
